ViaSat Brings Additional Lawsuit Against Space Systems/Loral for Patent Infringement

CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT), an innovator in satellite and other wireless networking systems and services, has filed an additional complaint for patent infringement against Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) related to the ongoing, unauthorized, and willful use of ViaSat technologies. ViaSat is asserting three recently issued patents in the new complaint related to technology ViaSat developed for its groundbreaking 100+ Gbps ViaSat-1 satellite. The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. ViaSat is seeking monetary damages and a permanent injunction to prevent SS/L from continuing to use ViaSat technology in the design and manufacture of SS/L satellites.
