ViaSat Part of Prime Contract Valued up to $10 Billion in Support of U.S. ARMY Global Tactical Advanced Communications Systems (GTACS)

Tactical C3 requirements are changing so rapidly that there is a corresponding need to change to a more responsive acquisition system that minimizes or eliminates unnecessary repetitive administrative functions. Previously, GTACS requirements were being satisfied by numerous program management offices, product managers, the DoD, and other Federal agencies under many different procurement instruments/contracts. The new GTACS contract consolidates those to serve several agencies and departments from the defense, homeland security, and military services. The contract structure will allow for competitive delivery order awards among pre-qualified contractors, maintaining competition throughout the five-year contract period.
