Viasat Adds OEM Editing and Content Management Enhancements to its AeroDocs Aviation Platform
The upgraded release, known as AeroDocs version 18.3 (v18.3), introduces significant new capabilities related to the import, editing and publishing of certain aircraft original equipment manufacturers' (OEM) documents. It also includes support for shared content; Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) v2.0 for authentication and single sign-on; and a revamped iPad Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) application that includes a host of improvements to the viewing experience. Specific updates include:
- Editing for OEM documentation: Viasat AeroDocs v18.3 now allows airline customers to import complex and large OEM manuals into Viasat AeroDocs including flight crew operations manuals, quick reference handbooks and minimum equipment lists. Once imported into the AeroDocs framework, OEM documents appear as editable content, enabling airlines to easily edit content without the need for content editor specialists.
- Shared content: Viasat AeroDocs v18.3 contains significant content improvements, including content reuse and content multi-purposing, which allows airlines to write content, add it to the library and then reuse it across multiple document sources, including: reference handbooks, maintenance manuals and operational manuals.
"With the upgraded AeroDocs v18.3 release, we incorporated customer feedback with advanced content controls to present an enhanced framework for faster, easier content management of highly-regulated aviation safety documentation," said
