ViaSat Adds Robert Bowman to Board of Directors

CARLSBAD, Calif., May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) announced the appointment of Robert Bowman to its board of directors. Mr. Bowman will serve as a Class II director and will stand for election at the company's 2013 annual meeting of stockholders. With the appointment of Mr. Bowman, the ViaSat board now consists of seven members, six of whom are independent directors.

Mr. Bowman serves as president and CEO of Major League Baseball Advanced Media, L.P., which manages the interactive and Internet rights for Major League Baseball, a position he has held since 2000. Prior to joining MLB Advanced Media, Mr. Bowman was president and COO of ITT Corporation from 1995 to 2000, where he previously served as CFO from 1991 to 1995. He served as Treasurer of the State of Michigan from 1983 to 1990, overseeing its tax policy and collection and the state's pension fund. He currently serves as president of the Michigan Education Trust and as a member of the board of directors of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.
